Papa Murphy's | Take 'N' Bake Pizza

Well Papa you threw one by me. Savor the flavor, because it sure as hell won't happen again. One star rating for the ordering process. The pizzas are tasty and the staff here are friendly & hard working. If you've read this far I'll entice you to read a bit further. So I offered to pick up pizza on the way home and asked family to place the order. My subpar hand eye coordination and delayed response times = no ordering while driving for me. And oh, yeah, it's illegal & stupid to text and drive (you'd never guess it while driving around in CO...more Coloradoans text & drive than speed...and everyone in CO speeds). Arrived at Papas to discover a 15% tip on the order. Huh. Got to car and called family. I'm told they did not add a tip. After all, this is counter-service and take home and bake yourself, can't fathom how a tip makes sense here. The staff aren't paid measly $2.13 server wages (sure they're not making bank, but most of us don't get tipped for doing our jobs, yes even tough jobs outside service/hospitality). Back home went through a mock online order. Papa Murphy's adds a 15% tip by default. Other suggestions are 20% and 25% (WTH?!!). If you're paying close attention you can remove it, but if you're moving fast you'll be tipping them for I don't know what. Unhappy experience.

My family simply loves Tuesdays here. We typically buy 2 specialty pizzas, upgrade them to family size, and a side, either a salad or cheesesticks or a desert, for around $28, give or take. We have a family size of 7, which can often times be extremely expensive to feed, especially out to eat or restaraunt type food. But here, with their Tuesday specials, it makes it possible to feed my entire family, plus have leftovers, for less than it cost me at the store. Simply love it, and we are here every Tuesday.

Remember no-gimmick plain-delicious pizza? That's Papa Murphy's take and bake. No gimmicks. Not salty. Not greasy. Not oily. Just really good pizza. We had the 16" family, hand-made loaded with sausage, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, garlic and mushrooms. We have enough left for tomorrow's lunch. I'm into pizza and usually make my own but haven't had time, so Plan B was Papa Murphy. I loaded up mine with fresh basil after it came out of my oven. The shop was well-staffed. My custom order took about five minutes to create. There were online and phone-in orders all prepped and waiting for pick up. The staff is friendly, the store is clean and bright. Fresh made take and bake pizza was a great concept when Papa Murphy introduced it years ago and it still is. It's a great, healthy option.

The staff, Evan, Zach Ethan are top shelf. The pizza is always fresh, whenever I walk in I am greated by name. The price of Tuesday & Friday specials has not gone up, that fact alone earns my support. Thanks for being a great pizza shop, visit early & often. UPDATE December 23 Price has been raised for the Tuesday deal.

They are usually good at following the instructions, but this time an employee named Tyler did a pretty terrible job. We ordered the pizza as light cheese for HALF of the pizza since that cheese is vegan and he put THE ENTIRE BAG, and put some toppings on the wrong side, we had to remove a good portion of cheese so there is still too much cheese on my side, and he seemed rushed to make the pizza. Pictured is some of the cheese we were able to remove without destroying my side of the pizza, and the other photo is of what it looks like after that removal of cheese, still way to much cheese on my side.
